09/11/2010 – WATER: CROATIA; 30 MLN ALLOCATED FOR WATER GRID
ZAGREB – The Croatian Ministry for Regional Development, Silviculture and Water Management has signed an agreement for the financing of a project for the development of a water supply system worth 30 million euros in the city of Slavonski Brod. The agreement was signed with the public company for Croatian water (Hrvatske Vode), local authorities and executives from the Vodovod company. It is the most important project in the Croatian water management sector and will be carried out with European Commission financing as part of the IPAS programme for regional development. Out of the total 29.65 million euros the IPA programme will cover 50% (15.34 million), while the rest (12.3 million euros) will be allocated through the state budget and that of the Slavonski Brod Municipality for a value of 2 million euros. One of the main elements of the project will be the construction of machines for water purification and new connections on the water supply grid.
