PESCARA – The multiannual communication plan of Ipa-Adriatico’s cross-border cooperation programme, and especially the dedicated website adriaticipacbc.org, was awarded the "Eurocommunication2010" international prize. The Special Prize in the Web Communication category is provided in the context of COM.Lab 2010 – General States of Public Communication in Italy and Europe. The website was considered one of the most interesting examples of web design and content at the cross-border cooperation level, a point of reference and a model for Public administration in continuous evolution. The award ceremony was carried out in Bologna and the award was handed to the leaders of the Interregional cooperation and development observatory (Osservatorio Interregionale Cooperazione e Sviluppo), which has technical assistance duties in the context of the Cooperation Programme. This is the fourth edition of the prize sponsored by the Italian Association of Public and Institutional Communication which has the purpose of highlighting examples and excellencies of public and institutional communication at national level. Abruzzo is the leader of Ipa which also involves Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Serbia and Greece, as well as the Regions of Abruzzo, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Marche, Apulia and Molise. Assets amount to 280 million euros to finance projects aimed at harmonising the cross-border Adriatic area in the name of economic and institutional, touristic, environmental and infrastructural cooperation. Gianni Chiodi, president of the Regional Council of Abruzzo, expressed his satisfaction stating that "I make my compliments to the protagonists of the Adriatico Ipa programme for the great results that have been achieved, the COM.Lab 2010 prize is further proof of it. I must emphasise the fact that in this case the acknowledgement comes for communication, a very important element because at the base of the success of a programme there is also a correct and efficient capacity of making the initiative known, disseminating its results, aside from guaranteeing transparency in paths. I am also pleased about the effective coordination role played by Abruzzo, another proud moment after that our Region came out the first in the centre-south in the use of structural funds".
