26/04/2010 – ENERGY: CROATIAN-HUNGARIAN POWER LINE COMPLETED
ZAGREB – The long-distance power-line connecting the town of Ernestinovo, in Croatia and Pecs, in Hungary, will be operating from April. The final touches have been put on the new line, which will strengthen the stability of electrical energy systems in both countries and ensure that electrical energy reaches the North-Eastern part of Croatia.
With a total length of 86.4 kilometres (the Croatian stretch is 44.1 kilometres long), the power-line has the capacity to carry between 2200 and 2600 megawatts. The total construction cost is 39.5 million euros, 21.7 million of which have been provided by the Croatian HEP group.
