15/02/2010 – TOURISM: CROATIA, BRAC ISLAND FOCUSES ON HEATH AND WELLNESS

ZAGREB, – About 1.1 million square metres dedicated to the health and wellness of their clients: four specialised clinics (paediatrics for children with handicaps or delays in development, internal medicine, surgery, and gynaecology), as well as single-family villas and small four and five-star hotels.This will be offered by Medis Brachia, the new resort operating in the medical-treatment field that Swiss group Verica Trust & Capital Management Ag will complete by 2015 in Nerezisce, on Brac Island in Croatia.A new wellbeing centre, sports, recreational and refreshment facilities, stores, and a heliport will be built at the new complex. The new structure dedicated to the elderly will accommodate 850 people, and will be open year-round.Of the near 400 million euros estimated to complete the entire project, writes the Italian Trade Commission (ICE) office in Zagreb in a statement, 22 will be spent for the urbanisation of the area, while another 9 million will be allocated to planting exclusively indigenous or Mediterranean flora.The new resort, which will be constructed about 6km from the coast, will employ about 875 people.
