The countries and regions that are involved in the cooperation programme CBC IPA ADRIATIC will participate in the International Tourism Fair in Milan from February 18 to 21, to offer a global view on the opportunities of tourism development in the Adriatic area.
The presence will also be the occasion for the heritage of practical experiences and of cooperative intervention models of tourism development, implemented in the previous phase of community programming between 2000 and 2006, with reference to the Interreg IIIA Transfrontal Adriatic programme.
The message is primarily aimed at institutions, but also to tourism operators, because they are potential beneficiaries of IPA Adriatic financing.
The participation of a community Programme at the Milan Fair is an absolute novelty. The initiative will be made part of the activities related to the Programme’s communication plan. During the three days of the event "IPA Adriatic”, there will be a dedicated corner, whilst the main event has been scheduled for the 18 February at 16,30 at the stand of the region of Abruzzo, a front-runner of the programme, where a workshop finalized to offer visibility to the programme and its potential activities in the tourism sector will be promoted.
The "IPA Adriatic" cross-border cooperation programme will involve eight states: Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Serbia and Greece; and seven regions: Abruzzo, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Marche, Apulia and Molise. The programme has a total endowment of around 280 million euro and aims to harmonise the cross-border Adriatic area, in the name of institutional, economic, cultural touristic, environmental and infrastructural cooperation.
The tourism show expects 153.800 people, of which 101.000 professional operators and 52.800 travellers from over 150 countries.
